xAPI Profiles Working Group Kickoff Meeting Announcement
In 2016, the Advanced Digital Learning (ADL) Initiative accelerated research and development efforts related to Experience API (xAPI) conformance requirements and certification. The first phase of work resulted in the community-driven Conformance Requirements for Learning Record Stores(LRS) and the corresponding LRS Test Suite.
The next phase of work will focus on formalizing the approach and processes for creating and publishing xAPI Profiles. During the certification research engagement with xAPI community, it became clear that addressing Profiles is a higher priority than any other work. In fact, profiles will have significant impacts on the direction and decisions for a professional certification program. Establishing a consistent, scalable approach to xAPI Profiles is also fundamentally critical to support semantic interoperability.
Starting April 3 through July 11, xAPI Profile Working Group (WG) meetings will be held every Tuesday at 11am Eastern. The Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Initiative encourages all to participate in this open and collaborative process.
A webinar kicking off the xAPI Profiles WG will be on Monday, March 27 at 11am Eastern.
